Isis – a half-forgotten character in Ancient Egyptian mythology or a unique key to understanding the hidden truth of the universe?

Isis – a half-forgotten character in Ancient Egyptian mythology or a unique key to understanding the hidden truth of the universe?

Today we'll talk about the main character of our rock mystery.

Isis (Egyptian Aset – "throne", "seat") is truly one of the most complex and multilayered archetypes in human history.

Her image has evolved from the national goddess of Ancient Egypt to a universal metaphysical symbol in Western esoteric traditions. Here are her most interesting faces:

- The Great Mother and Queen of the Throne. Her name ("throne") indicates her as the personification of royal power – the pharaohs were called the "sons of Isis," sitting on the throne-mother.

- Magic and Resurrection. The central ancient Egyptian myth tells how Isis reassembles the divided body of Osiris, mourns him, and magically conceives Horus, the god of the Sun and Sky.

She knows secret words and rituals capable of reviving the dead and giving rise to new life. She is the prototype of the idea that the spirit can restore and revive destroyed matter.

- Protector and Healer. Her wings are a symbol of protection, for, according to the myth, she covers Osiris with them. In the later period, her cult was directly associated with healing.

- Stellar Aspect. Isis was identified with the star Sopdet (Sirius), whose heliacal rising foreshadowed the Nile flood and new life. This linked her to the cycles of nature, renewal, and cosmic order.

In the Greco-Roman period, Isis is celebrated as the One Goddess, standing behind all the faces of female deities.

Here she is no longer simply an Egyptian deity, but Universal Nature, Sophia-Wisdom, the soul of the world.

Now let's move on to the Middle Ages.

Here, Isis becomes a symbol of Nature itself in its virginal, unknown aspect, which the initiate (alchemist, magician) must "uncover."

On the Temple of Isis at Sais was inscribed: "I am all that was, is, and will be, and no mortal has lifted my veil."

She symbolizes the final mystery of existence, the ultimate reality hidden behind the visible.

Her veil is maya, the illusion of the manifested world. To lift it means to attain direct knowledge (gnosis) of the foundation of the universe.

In alchemy, Isis is identified with silver (the Moon), water, and the mysterious "primordial material" that must be "mourned," "gathered," and "revived" in the process of the Great Work.

Her union with Osiris (the Sun/sulfur) is a symbol of the chemical mixture that produces the Philosopher's Stone.

Incidentally, in alchemical treatises, the Philosopher's Stone is often symbolized by the Ouroboros serpent devouring its own tail. It also briefly becomes a character in our rock mystery "Isidis," but we'll discuss this separately, lest we get completely lost in the captivating labyrinth of meanings.

In the teachings of the Freemasons, Rosicrucians, and Blavatsky, Isis is the personification of the Secret Doctrine, the hidden wisdom of all ages, and her cult is seen as a manifestation of a single, primordial tradition.

We, of course, convey all these layers of meaning in our rock mystery "Isidis" through music, dance, lyrics, and symbolic projections.

For example, in the scene of Osiris's burial, projections of Isis's Osiris appear, whose tears flow like the vast Nile, while the music echoes with a spell of immortality based on an ancient Indian mantra:

"Life, conquering death, tears the fabric of fate in two.

It will split the earth's firmament in two
and give birth to the sun there again"—as Isis gives birth to Horus through the death and resurrection of Osiris, as Secret Wisdom gives birth to the Sun of Knowledge through the death and rebirth of the soul.

This is the veil of meanings, sounds, and words that you can uncover, layer by layer, experiencing the entire spiritual history of humanity within yourself, at the premiere of our rock mystery "Isis" in Moscow on April 26.

Tickets will go on sale soon; don't miss out on yours. And perhaps this event will become one of the most memorable in both your outer and inner lives.
